Sediment Budgets for Small Salinized Agricultural Catchments in Southwest Australia and Implications for Phosphorus Transport

چکیده
Examples of sediment budgets are needed to document the range budget types and their controls. Sediment for three small agricultural catchments (7.6 15.6 km2) in southwestern Australia dominated by channel gully erosion, with sheet rill erosion playing a subordinate role. Erosion was increased clearing naturally swampy valley floors hillslopes agriculture grazing, episodic intense rainstorms. The proportion from appears be determined depth alluvial fills. Dryland salinization caused native vegetation has connected channels across narrow floodplains, increasing Delivery Ratio (SDR). Yield SDR found insensitive major in-catchment changes cover after initial clearing, ratio erosion/channel storage masses. This supports idea that yield alone is often poor indicator impact land use management change. Riparian would reduce but not phosphorus yield. study demonstrates value mixed methods where field observations chemical analysis combined information local people.
